Eight-try Leinster overpower Edinburgh 50-10 in Pro14

Eight-try Leinster made it six wins out of six in this season's Pro14 and consigned Edinburgh to their fourth defeat of the campaign.

The hosts had a bonus point by half-time with Dave Kearney, Luke McGrath, twice, and Peter Dooley crossing.

Dan Leavy marked his return to the Leinster team with their fifth score early in the second period.

Cian Kelleher added three more tries for the home side, Nic Groom getting the visitors' only score.

Leinster join Ulster on six wins but are two points clear at the top of Conference A, having picked up more bonus points. Edinburgh are fourth in Conference B with two wins and four defeats.

Kearney latched on to Jimmy O'Brien's kick to register the opening try. Ciaran Frawley's conversion was unsuccessful but he did convert after Luke McGrath finished following Kearney's offload.

Edinburgh managed to stem the tide with some pressure of their own and Nathan Chamberlain slotted a penalty between the posts.

Dooley forced over at the end of more sustained Leinster attacking and McGrath soon ran in his second try, with Frawley converting both.

Leavy, whose inclusion was one of five changes made by Leo Cullen, extended the gap between the sides with a drive over the line and Frawley added the extras.

Edinburgh's night got worse when Eroni Sau was yellow carded for a deliberate knock on and Leinster capitalised on their numerical advantage with Kelleher's brace of tries, the second of which was converted by Frawley.

Wing Kelleher retrieved Harry Byrne's cross-field chip for his first and his second came after another clever Leinster move.

Rory Darge made his debut in the Edinburgh pack after replacing Andrew Davidson and Richard Cockerill's side reduced their arrears when replacement scrum-half Groom found a gap to go over and Chamberlain converted.

But it only served to interrupt Leinster's dominance as Kelleher ran from distance to complete his hat-trick. Frawley missed the conversion.
