LOXLEY, Ala. – Jake Rainey will start the Harrod Logging Special from the pole Saturday night for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series season finale, the $10,000-to-win Deep South 100 at Deep South Speedway.

Rainey was the Boyd Built Fabricators Fast Qualifier and won his 10-lap KRC Power Steering Heat Race on Friday night.

The second-generation driver set a track record in Boyd Built Fabricators Group Qualifying on Friday with a lap in 16.123 seconds. That gave Rainey the pole for the second 10-lap KRC Power Steering Heat Race. Rainey won that event on Friday night to earn the inside front row starting spot for Saturday night’s race.

Joseph Joiner will start the Hunt The Front Special on the outside of the front row for Saturday night’s race after winning the first 10-lap heat race on Friday night. Reigning Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series National champion Wil Herrington won the third heat race will start third Saturday in the 5m Construction Rocket.

The top six finishers in each KRC Power Steering Heat Race on Friday night transferred into Saturday’s Deep South 100. Following Rainey out for the second heat were Bo Slay, Ryan Crane, Monte Skinner, Michael Lloyd and Jimmy Thomas.

Joining Joiner in the main event from the first heat race were Johnny Collins, Marcus Minga, Kyle Bronson, Tim Anderson and Mike Lane. Following Herrington in heat three were D.G. Hawkins, Joey Moxley, Jody Knowles, Chase Cooper and Chris Reid.

Drivers that finished seventh on back in their respective heat races will have one more opportunity to make the 24-car starting field for the Deep South 100 on Saturday night through a 10-lap KRC Power Steering B-Main that will take the top four finishers.
