MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Biohaven Pharmaceuticals announced Wednesday that Nurtec ODT will be the primary partner for the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing entry for the full NASCAR Cup Series season next year.

The new partnership starts at the season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona Int’l Speedway in February.

Nurtec ODT was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the acute treatment of migraines in February and is the first and only CGRP receptor antagonist available in an orally disintegrating tablet designed for rapid onset of action.

Nearly 40 million people in the U.S. suffer from migraines and the World Health Organization classifies migraine as one of the 10 most disabling medical illnesses.

Migraines are characterized by debilitating attacks lasting four to 72 hours with multiple symptoms, including pulsating headaches of moderate to severe pain intensity that can be associated with nausea or vomiting, and/or sensitivities to sound and light.
