Roberto Firmino scored a dramatic late winner to give Liverpool an important 2-1 victory against Tottenham in a top-of-the-table clash at Anfield.
Firmino thumped a header into the corner of Hugo Lloris' goal in the 89th minute to send Liverpool ahead of Jose Mourinho's men and three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah had given Liverpool a deserved lead on 26 minutes in fortuitous circumstances. Curtis Jones was crowded out by defenders but the ball fell to Salah who scored via a deflection from Toby Alderweireld.
Tottenham were soon level through Son Heung-Min, whose 33rd-minute goal survived a VAR check for offside. Giovani Lo Celso's through-ball sent Son behind Liverpool's defence and he calmly scored his 99th goal for the club.
Liverpool were let off the hook in the 63rd minute when Steven Bergwijn struck the post when through on goal.
But Firmino ensured Liverpool snatched a vital victory and the initiative in the title race with his late goal.
Liverpool move to 28 points while Spurs remain on 25.
