INDIANAPOLIS – Clauson-Marshall Racing announced Wednesday night that Tyler Courtney will pilot the No. 7bc NOS Energy Drink Turbo sprint car full time with the All Star Circuit of Champions next year.

Courtney has driven for CMR since its inception in December of 2016. Next year will mark his first full season on the All Star tour.

“As a short-track, open-wheel team, we are continually looking for ways to grow our company, build our brand and provide the best marketing opportunities for our partners in short track racing,” said Tim Clauson, co-owner of Clauson Marshall Racing. “The growth and popularity of winged 410 sprint car racing, and particularly the All Star Circuit of Champions, provides us the perfect opportunity to do that.

“We want to compete at the highest level of the sport, and this is another step towards that goal,” Clauson continued. “We are proud to do this with a driver in Tyler Courtney and a partner in NOS Energy Drink, who have both been a part of CMR since the beginning.”

On Nov. 14, Courtney picked up his 50th win for Clauson-Marshall Racing by winning his third-straight Western World Championship.

During their journey to 50 wins, CMR and Courtney have won some of the most prestigious events in midget and non-winged sprint car racing, including both a USAC National Sprint Car and a USAC National Midget title.

“When a driver wins two championships and 50 races for your company in near record time, then asks for help chasing his dreams … this move is the easiest decision we have ever made,” added Richard Marshall, co-owner of Clauson Marshall Racing. “I am excited as a race fan more than anything to see Sunshine tackle this new challenge, and I’m proud to have a front-row seat. I can’t wait to get to Florida!”

Courtney raced a limited schedule in winged sprint car action this season, picking up a win during the first half of the year at St. Francois County Raceway in Missouri.

Now, the Indianapolis native is eager to make the jump to full-season status in the winged world and start down a path that he hopes leads to an eventual drive with the World of Outlaws.

“I’m excited to start this next chapter in my career. It’s going to be a challenge, but one that we are ready for,” noted Courtney. “I feel like we learned a lot in 2020 to help us be prepared to compete for the All Star championship in 2021. Being able to take this next step with NOS Energy Drink and Clauson Marshall Racing is awesome, because both companies have always had my back, and I’m glad that they believe in me enough to make this jump. We have a great team assembled and we can’t wait to get going in January.”

NOS Energy Drink has sponsored Clauson Marshall Racing since 2017 and has been part of both of Courtney’s USAC championships.

“All of us at NOS Energy Drink are proud to continue our sponsorship of Tyler Courtney and excited to see what he does next season with the All Star Circuit of Champions,” said Lauren Albano, Marketing Director for NOS Energy Drink. “It’s a great opportunity for us both, as it gives NOS presence in the growing All Star series and allows Tyler a chance to run with some of the best on dirt.

“We’re looking forward to a great year and continued partnership.”

Clauson Marshall Racing will kick off the new season with Courtney on Jan. 29-30 at Screven Motorsports Park in Sylvania, Ga.
