Scofield Conquers New Smyrna Red Eye Field

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Making his first start in a super late model at New Smyrna Speedway since 2016, Jeff Scofield drove to victory in the super late model portion of Saturday’s Red Eye 50/50.

Scofield started third in the 13-car field and dominated the event, outrunning Jesse Dutilly on his way to victory at the half-mile asphalt oval. Dutilly finished 1.297 seconds behind Scofield in second, followed by Michael Hinde, Brad May and Ryan Moore.

In the companion 50-lap pro late model feature, it was May who got to celebrate in victory lane. May took the lead before the halfway point and was able to outrun NASCAR veteran Mike Skinner to pick up the victory ahead of an 11-car field.

Will Cox was third in the pro late model feature, followed by sports car veteran Jade Buford and Jean-Philppe Bergeron.

Other division winners on the loaded event card included Jerry Symons (Modifieds), Bobby Holley (LKQ Super Stocks), Dustin Higdon (Bomber), Jason Lester (Sportsman) and Junior Beckner (E-Mod).

Super Late Models: Jeff Scofield, Jesse Dutilly, Michael Hinde, Brad May, Ryan Moore, Kris Wright, Daniel Dye, Travis Wilson, Anthony Sergi, Hayden Sprague, Garrett Smithley, Kelly Moore, Steve Weaver.

Pro Late Models: Brad May, Mike Skinner, Will Cox, Jade Buford, Jean-Philippe Bergeron, Colt Hensley, Randy Anderson, Tovia Grynewicz, Colby Clements, Dalton Smith, Blake Suttie.
