LUSAIL, Qatar – Australian Jack Miller topped the charts on the opening day of the MotoGP season Friday as practice began for the Grand Prix of Qatar at the Losail Int’l Circuit.
Miller’s Ducati bike carried him to a fast lap of 1:53.387 ahead of his teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who gave Ducati a one-two at the top of the practice charts.
Monster Energy Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo was third fastest, followed by Johann Zarco of Pramac Racing and Suzuki’s Alex Rins.
Notables included reigning MotoGP champion Joan Mir in 11th, Valentino Rossi in ninth and Monster Energy Yamaha’s Maverick Vinales in sixth.
