SALEM, Ind. – Kody Swanson has five USAC Silver Crown Series wins at Salem Speedway and on Sunday he added a super late model victory to his incredible Salem record.
Swanson registered his first victory in a super late model Sunday afternoon, topping the 100-lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event at the historic .555-mile asphalt oval.
Driving for Team Platinum, the same team Swanson drove for when he claimed the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing pro late model title in February at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway, Swanson started the day by setting fast time.
He struggled early in the race, but came to life late and passed Carson Hocevar to take the lead with 10 laps left en route to the victory.
Scotty Tomasik finished second, followed by Hunter Jack, Kyle Crump and Brett Robinson. Michael Simko was sixth, with Dalton Armstrong, Josh Ebbert and Hocevar completing the nine-car field.
