NFL Network reported on Sunday that San Francisco is choosing between Alabama’s Mac Jones and North Dakota State’s Trey Lance. If true, it means that Ohio State star Justin Fields is somewhat surprisingly out of the running. Jones has been the popular name since the 49ers moved up from No. 12 to No. 3 in a trade with the Dolphins. This comes after most draft experts had him as the fifth-ranked quarterback behind Fields and Lance.
