The G League Ignite have offered head coach Brian Shaw a contract extension that he is expected to sign soon, a source told ESPN's The Undefeated.

Shaw coached the Ignite to an 8-7 record this year in their inaugural season, held at the NBA G League bubble in Florida.

The Ignite had a mixture of elite high school graduates and veterans on their roster. Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga are two potential top-five 2021 NBA draft prospects who played for the Ignite.

Shaw, a five-time NBA champion, has nearly 30 years of experience as an NBA player and coach. He served as head coach of the Denver Nuggets from 2013 to '15.
