Bucks-Grizzlies called amid arena fire alarm issue

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Milwaukee Bucks' preseason game at the Memphis Grizzlies was suspended at the conclusion of the third quarter due to a fire alarm issue at FedExForum, the league announced Tuesday night.

After a lengthy delay, the league, in consultation with the Bucks and Grizzlies, decided not to complete the game in the interest of player safety. The Grizzlies were leading, 87-77, when the decision was made.

"A very unique experience tonight,'' Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. "No one could have foreshadowed that that would have happened. Great collaboration between both teams and the league. A lot of dialogue. And it was definitely unique.''

Ja Morant had 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting for the Grizzles. He was also 4-of-4 from the line to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Though the night was cut short, he was able to throw down high-flying dunks in the first and third quarters.

De'Anthony Melton scored 14 points and Steven Adams had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies. Jordan Nwora led Milwaukee with 16 points, and Grayson Allen scored 13.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Jrue Holiday -- all major contributors to Milwaukee's NBA title run this summer -- did not play for the Bucks.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
