The ITTF Group has appointed Tristan Lavier as its Head of Communications.

He will coordinate the communications between all three entities under the ITTF Group umbrella – the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), which is the international governing body of Table Tennis, the ITTF Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the ITTF, and World Table Tennis (WTT), the commercial and event business of the ITTF.

“With the transition that the ITTF has been making with the ITTF Foundation and WTT, it was vital to ensure synergies in communications between the three entities,” said Steve Dainton, ITTF Group CEO.

“Tristan Lavier brings with him a wealth of experience that will ensure we professionalise even further in the communications space and ensure that our goals and objectives are well understood.”

Lavier has worked in the sports industry for a decade and contributed to the delivery of the Tokyo 2020 Games from the bid stage.

A French national, he has experience in strategic communications, reputation and issues management, media relations, executive training services, and the mechanics of business in a multicultural environment, with an emphasis on major events.

“After an incredible experience in Tokyo, I am delighted to join the ITTF Group and to become part of the table tennis community,” said Lavier.

“Both exciting and inclusive, table tennis is one of the world’s most followed sport, with a long and storied history.

“With the different activities of the ITTF, WTT, and the ITTF Foundation, I am very excited by the various perspectives and communication opportunities this new mission offers and I will work to ensure our sport is at the forefront of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.”
