Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups has entered the league's health and safety protocols, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday.
Assistant coach Scott Brooks will serve as the acting head coach in Billups' absence, sources told ESPN.
Billups is one of four NBA head coaches in protocols, including the Los Angeles Lakers' Frank Vogel and Chicago Bulls' Billy Donovan, with sources telling ESPN that Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams entered protocols on Monday.
Sacramento Kings coach Alvin Gentry and the Indiana Pacers' Rick Carlisle are back coaching after spending time in COVID-19 protocols.
Portland has lost eight of its past 10 games and had its most recent game postponed because of COVID-19 issues with the Brooklyn Nets. The Blazers host the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.
