Notable names double title haul, play concludes in France

Men’s singles gold medallists; on Sunday 8th May, at the SQY French Para Open, Turkey’s Abdullah Ozturk, Frenchman Thomas Bouvais and Nicolas Creange all collected the same colour once again.

Similarly, for the women, Brazil’s Catia Oliveira, Thailand’s Wassana Sringam and Turkey’s Neslihan Kavas, alongside Japan’s Nozomi Nakamura and the host nation’s Lea Ferney, added to their title collection.

In the men’s doubles, Abdullah Ozturk partnered Nesim Turan to success in class 8, Thomas Bouvais joined forces with Mateo Boheas to claim class 18 gold.

Not to be overshadowed by colleagues Lucas Creange and Lea Ferney joined forces to emerge the mixed doubles class 22 winners.

Impressive from Lea Ferney, in the women’s doubles it was the same from Catia Oliveira who partnered Marliane Santos to class 5 success. Imposingly, Nozomi Nakamura joined forces with Germany’s Marleen Reeg to emerge the class 20 winners.

Further titles, likewise Wassana Sringam and Neslihan Kavas enjoyed mixed doubles success, a situation that applied also to Kim Hyeonuk.

Wassana Sringam partnered Yuttajak Glinbanchuen to class 7 gold, Neslihan Kavas joined forces with Hungary’s Andras Csonka to claim the top prize in class 20. In a similar vein, Kim Hyeonuk allied with Lee Migyu to emerge victorious in class 4.

Meanwhile in the remaining men’s doubles events, Spain’s Iker Sastre and Miguel Angel Toledo secured class 4 gold, Rungroj Thainiyom and Phisit Wangphonphathanasiri emerged the class 14 winners; the class 22 title was claimed by Korea Republic’s Jung Younga and Lee Migyu.

Likewise in the women’s doubles it was success for Korea Republic’s Jung Younga and Lee Migyu in class 10, a status also gained by the combination of Australia’s Rebecca Julian and Brazil’s Sopha Kelmer in class 14.

Worthy combinations in form, the mixed doubles followed suit.

Thailand’s Yuttajak Glinbanchuen and Wassana Sringam won class 7; colleagues Wanchai Chaiwut and Wijittra Jiaon class 10. The host nation’s Clément Berthier and Morgen Caillaud emerged victorious in class 14.

Attention now turns to Lasko, the four day Slovenia Para Open commences on Wednesday 11th May.
