Now, for the first time, the examination will be available in ten languages (English, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Russian).
Thus, in combination with the online format, a wider access than ever before for prospective International Umpires is made available. The restructured examination features revised and updated questions that mirror real match situations more accurately than ever. Moreover, the new format means the result is available immediately after completion.

All candidates must have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the laws and regulations of table tennis, in particular for international competitions. Additionally they should be familiar with the Handbook for Match Officials and any similar publications they may have been received from their national association or the International Table Tennis Federation.
Candidates must be born on or before Wednesday 1st March 2000. It is highly recommended that applicants have passed a national umpire examination, or equivalent, following either the ITTF educational system or that of their own national association. Also, candidates should have at least two years experience officiating at national level.
