SPARTA, Ky. – Past NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series champion Brett Moffitt will have clear sailing out his windshield at the start of Saturday’s Buckle Up In Your Truck 225.
Moffitt, who won the Truck Series title in 2018, will start from the pole in the seventh race of the season following a random draw for starting position held Wednesday evening.
Two of Moffitt’s GMS Racing teammates, Zane Smith and Tyler Ankrum, will join him at the front of Saturday’s lineup, with Smith starting second and Ankrum rolling off third to give the Maury Gallagher-owned team a sweep of the top-three grid positions for the race.
Christian Eckes and point leader Austin Hill filled out the top five, followed by Ben Rhodes, Grant Enfinger, Sheldon Creed, Todd Gilliland and Chandler Smith, who is making his first start on a 1.5-mile intermediate track Saturday night.
The lineup draw consisted of positions 1-10 in series owner points drawing for those positions in the starting field. The same was done for positions 11-21 and 22-32, with positions 33-40 being assigned based on order of eligibility.
Defending series champion Matt Crafton starts 14th for Saturday night’s 225-mile event.
Coverage of the Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway begins at 6 p.m. ET Saturday, live on FS1, the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
