Recent results highlights in athletics, including a cross country win by Britain’s Amy-Eloise Neale in Indiana

Inzai, Japan, November 14

Japan’s 2019 world 10th-placer Eiki Takahashi smashed the world 10,000m race walk best, clocking 37:25.21 to improve on the previous best of 37:53.09 set by Francisco Javier Fernandez of Spain in 2008.

The top three were all well inside that mark as Koki Ikeda placed a close second in 37:25.90 and Yuta Koga finished third in 37:35.00.

Kumiko Okada won the women’s race in 44:11.56.

Yokohama, Japan, November 14

Richard Kimunyan Yator ran another superb 10,000m time of 27:01.74 to just miss his PB.

In second, his fellow Kenyan Jonathan Ndiku set a PB of 27:01.95 to move to fourth on the 2020 world rankings.

Japan’s Yamato Yoshii, who is aged just 18, made a sensational debut with 28:08.61.

XC Town USA Meet of Champions, Terre Haute, USA, November 14

Making a return to cross country action, Britain’s Amy-Eloise Neale won the women’s 6km in 20:18, one second ahead of Emma Wilson.

According to Power of 10, that’s Neale’s first cross country race since her U23 fourth place at the 2017 European Cross Country Championships.

Mason Ferlic won the men’s 8km race in 23:44, 10 seconds ahead of Paul Chelimo.

Windhoek, Namibia, November 13-14

Beatrice Masilingi won both the 100m and 200m national titles, with the 17-year-old clocking a Namibian under-20 and under-18 record of 11.52 (-0.7m/sec) in the 100m and a wind-assisted 22.81 (+2.8m/s) in the 200m.

Sugar Run 5K, Memphis, USA, November 14

Keira D’Amato won the women’s race in 15:08 ahead of Aisha Praught-Leer in a 15:35 Jamaican road record.

Emmanuel Bor won the men’s race in 13:37 ahead of Britain’s Sam Atkin with 13:41.
